Today it’s all about the children

Today, on 5 December, we celebrate ‘Sinterklaas’ (Saint Nicholas) in The Netherlands. As a tradition, we treat each other gifts and candy. This year, thanks to our Virgin Nuts Foundation, we aim to treat children for whom a gift and/or support is even more important today, and many times not self-evident.

Stichting Vrienden van Sophia – fundraising organisation for the Erasmus MC Sophia Children's Hospital, committed to funding scientific research to discover the causes of diseases and to improve treatment methods. Especially for this day, we have donated soft cuddly monkeys to #vriendensophia as a moral support for the children admitted to Sophia. All proceeds benefit scientific research.

Virgin Nuts adds a delicious flavour and crunch to granolas. You don’t have to worry about sugar levels, because we do. We compose granolas according to your nutritional requirements resp. the requested nutri-score. And if you want, we even produce caramelised nuts, seeds and cereals without refined sugar.

Comparable granolas in supermarkets and specialty shops are often produced with caramel syrup, which adds the same sweetness, but also more (hidden) ingredients. Producing our artisanal coated products, we only work with #100%natural ingredients, like pure (beet) sugar or – at your request – for instance unrefined cane sugar. Indulgent, but with a little help for your body to properly digest.

Woooo... Green Friday: 100 trees 🌳

No Black Friday, but we celebrate #GreenFriday today. We've promised to compensate our CO2-emission in November by donating trees to Trees for All. This promise results in 65 trees.

And we have good news: we've added 35 trees to round up to 100 trees to be planted in the Green Friday Forest 🌳 in recreation area Het Twiske (NL).

Truffles, the luxury cousins of mushrooms, are a perfect seasoning for our dry roasted seasoned product range. With their unmistakably strong aroma and a earthy taste, the truffle is rather dominant and fits perfectly in the increasing crave for distinctive flavours.

Green Friday 2023

No Black Friday, but we celebrate #GreenFriday on 24 November next. Instead of offering discounts, we're planting trees with Trees for All for the Green Friday Forest 🌳.

While producing our #absolutelydelicious sweet coated and dry roasted seasoned nuts, seeds and cereals, unavoidably CO2 is emitted. Virgin Nuts highly values the environment and we fulfil our mission to reduce our CO2-emissions to the max. To offset for the rest and to keep the Virgin Nuts production facilities carbon neutral #netzero we compensate 211 tons of CO2 (2023) by supporting Trees for All sustainable forestry projects.

For this year’s #GreenFriday we will compensate our CO2 emission in November by donating trees that will be planted in the Green Friday Forest 🌳 in recreation area Het Twiske (NL).

Xmas closure 2023

Our factories are closed from 21 December 2023 until 2 January 2024 and our warehouse and office are closed from 25 December until 2 January 2024. Business will resume as usual on January 3rd, next.

For products to be produced before Christmas (pending availability), send us your order before 24 November next.

Whether it’s the 4th or the last Friday in September, we embrace the #HugaVegeterianDay. Many times we are asked if we can produce #vegeterian products. The answer is short: YES! All products that we produce are vegetarian, even the ones with honey. Honey fits a vegetarian diet, but not a vegan diet of course. But no worries, we do not have to add #honey. There are thousands of products that we can produce for you without honey, thus 100% #vegan.

Create your own organic products

Besides our wide variety of conventional products, we also produce almost the same variety of #organic snack products and ingredients.

As we produce all products fresh on customer order, the possibilities are almost endless. It starts with the selection of organic nuts and/or seeds and then your choice of sweet caramelised or savoury dry roasted.

Go sweet? We can combine the organic sugar coating with a delicious organic base flavour, like honey. On top we add organic herbs/spices, for instance a mix of peppers. Last but not least, we add some sea salt and there you go: in a few steps, we’ve created this #loveatfirstbite honey salt & pepper mix for you.
And if you prefer savoury, we take out the caramelised base and tadaaa 🙌: an #absolutelydelicious dry roasted (so, no added oils 😊) salt & pepper nut mix for you.

Yesss, we did it! It didn’t came easy this year, but we buckled down and with our full team we gave it our very best and YES, we’ve succeeded: during the recent unannounced audit, we’ve passed with glance and achieved the magical AA+ level.

Our BRCGS certificate, a leading recognition (recognized by the GFSI, the worldwide partnership of retailers), shows that the Virgin Nuts production facilities (including our peanut free facility) meet all food safety (incl. food defense, food fraud prevention and quality culture) requirements set by the British Retail Consortium (BRCGS).
